Makarand R. Paranjape

Makarand R. Paranjape is a long-standing Professor at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He also served as the Director, Indian Institute of Advanced Study. He is considered one of India’s leading public intellectuals and his latest books include JNU: Nationalism and India’s Uncivil War and Swami Vivekananda: Hinduism and India’s Road to Modernity. He has an enduring interest in integral wellness and healing. He edited the volume Healing across Boundaries: Biomedicine and Alternative Therapeutics and has contributed the chapter, “Prophylactic and Physic: Mahatma Gandhi’s Unique Contribution to Healing Aids and Arts” to the volume, Gandhi's Global Legacy: Moral Methods and Modern Challenges.
